Your First 15-Minute VirtualDJ Mix on Windows

A practical first-session plan for two tracks, cueing, gain and recording.

Check: Confirm this step works before proceeding. If it fails, record the observed behavior and return to the previous known-good configuration.

Set the audio route

Start with your computer speakers. Set the correct Windows output and check that the application master channel is not muted.

Use the crossfader

Start with the first deck audible. Bring the second deck in gradually, listen for clashing vocals, and return the fader if the transition becomes muddy.

Review the result

Before you finish

Keep notes of what worked, which Windows output was selected, and any error messages. Review the current publisher manual for exact menu labels and hardware support.
